Bohumil (Gottlieb) Sinek was born to Eliáš and Barbora Sinek in Mitrovice near the South Bohemian town of Tábor. In November 1900 he married Hermína Elsnerová (* 1874), who was three years his junior. Their marriage was childless.
Bohumil Sinek was a trader and the co-owner of the clothes manufacturing company Bohumil Sinek a spol., which was based in Prague’s Old Town Square and made blouses, underskirts and aprons.
From 1915 he and his wife lived first in Mikulášská St. (now Pařížská St.); in 1936 they moved to their own apartment in Sanytrová St. (on the boundary of the Old Town and Josefov), where they lived until their deportation. It was not until the end of April 1938 that Bohumil Sinek was registered as domiciled in Prague.
In October 1942. after three months in the Terezín ghetto, the Sineks were deported to Treblinka, where they were killed.
A porcelain figurine marked with Bohumil Sinek’s transport number has been identified at the Sychrov chateau.
