Rudolfina Epsteinová was born in Teplice-Šanov (Teplitz-Schönau) to Rudolf Barkus and Emma, née Oplatková. In 1922 she married the postal official Max Epstein (* 1865), who later rose to hold a high rank in the post office. Epstein was much older than Rudolfina; he was a widower, and he had two children from his first marriage – a son Viktor (* 1903) and a daughter Josefa (* 1907). Rudolfina’s marriage to Max Epstein lasted eight years; he died in January 1930.
Before marrying, Rudolfina Barkusová worked as a clerk. After her marriage (and after her husband’s death) she was evidently not in employment.
In 1918, while still Rudolfina Barkusová, she committed a minor misdemeanour about which no further details are known; she was fined 10 crowns, to be paid to a charitable fund caring for the poor of the city of Prague. If she had not paid the fine, she would have had to spend 12 hours in prison.
In October 1941 Rudolfina Epsteinová was transported to Łódź, where she died.
A pewter table service which belonged to her has been identified at the Sychrov chateau.
