To mark the 8th annual International Provenance Research Day, the Documentation Centre has prepared an online exhibition focused on the original owners of confiscated works of art. The individual stories not only recount the fates of the collectors themselves but also highlight the complexity and diversity of provenance research.
The exhibition is based on many years of provenance research of paintings from the National Gallery in Prague’s collection, the main outcome of which is a pair of publications by the Documentation Centre: Paintings from Jewish Collections in the National Gallery in Prague I. and II. (currently available in Czech).
